Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Publee collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It covers the Publee website, the Publee creator app and the brand dashboard. Publee is operated by [PUBLEE LEGAL ENTITY NAME], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. For anything in this policy, write to privacy@publee.com.
1. Who this applies to
We hold information about three groups: creators who make a profile, brand contacts who publish briefs, and visitors who simply browse the site. What we collect differs for each, and is set out below.
2. What we collect from creators
- Account details — your name, email address and password. Accounts are created through Shopify, our store and account platform.
- Profile details you give us — the deal types you will accept, your minimum cash fee, your main platform, your handle, approximate follower count and content niches.
- Social account data — if you connect TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, we read public and account-level metrics such as follower count, engagement rate, and your recent or best-performing posts. Access is read-only: we cannot post, message, delete or change anything on your accounts.
- Application and campaign records — the briefs you apply to, what was agreed, delivery dates, content submitted for approval, and the status of each step.
- Payment information — where we pay you a fee, the details needed to make that payment. Card and bank processing is handled by our payment providers, not stored by us.
- Shipping address — where a brand is sending you gifted product.
3. What we collect from brands
Business contact details for the people we work with (name, work email, phone, company), the briefs you publish, budgets and deal terms, your decisions on applicants, content approvals, and billing records. We do not ask brands for personal information beyond what is needed to run a campaign.
4. What we collect from visitors
Standard technical information your browser sends — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring site — plus cookie data as described in section 9. If you submit a form or sign up to hear from us, we keep the details you enter.
5. How we use it
- To create and run your account, and to authenticate you when you log in.
- To match creators to briefs, and to show brands a ranked shortlist of applicants.
- To administer campaigns — shipping, deadlines, content approval, payment and commission tracking.
- To contact you about a brief, an application, a payment or a change to the service.
- To detect fraud and fake engagement, and to enforce our terms.
- To understand how the site and app are used, so we can improve them.
- To send marketing emails, where you have asked for them. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is needed to run the service:
- With brands, when you apply to their brief — so they can assess your application and, if accepted, run the campaign with you and ship product to you.
- With our service providers — hosting, our Shopify store and account platform, email delivery, payment processing, analytics and customer support tools. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
- With the social platforms you connect — only to the extent needed to fetch the metrics you have authorised.
- Where the law requires it — to comply with a legal obligation, court order or lawful request, or to protect our rights, users or safety.
- On a business transfer — if Publee is acquired or merged, your information may pass to the buyer under this policy.
7. Our legal grounds (UK and EU users)
We rely on: contract, where processing is needed to give you the service you signed up for; legitimate interests, for matching, fraud prevention, security and improving the product; consent, for marketing emails, non-essential cookies and connecting your social accounts — which you can withdraw at any time; and legal obligation, for tax, accounting and compliance records.
8. How long we keep it
Account and profile data is kept while your account is open. If you close your account we delete or anonymise your profile within 90 days, except records we must keep longer — campaign, payment and tax records are retained for up to seven years, and any information needed to resolve a dispute is kept until it is resolved. Disconnecting a social account stops any further collection from it immediately.
9. Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work (logging in, your cart, security), and — with your consent — analytics cookies that tell us which pages are used and where people drop off. You can refuse or clear cookies in your browser at any time; the necessary ones being blocked may stop parts of the site working. Our store platform may also set cookies for fraud prevention and session handling.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to: give you a copy of the information we hold about you; correct anything inaccurate; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; send it to another provider; or stop sending you marketing. To exercise any of these, email privacy@publee.com — we reply within 30 days. If you are in the UK you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
11. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is limited to staff who need it, and social platform tokens are stored encrypted and are read-only. No system is perfectly secure, so we ask you to use a strong, unique password and to tell us at once if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.
12. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
13. Age
Publee is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has made an account, email us and we will remove it.
14. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects you meaningfully, email you before it takes effect.
